You may be wondering what in the world is a Studypod? Is it like an iPod for studying? (Hmm. That would be a nice review item. If anyone has an iPod they’d like me to review, that would be great. Especially an iTouch.)
But I digress. A Studypod is a book holder designed especially for students. It holds virtually any size book open at an angle that is ideal for reading. By standing the book up, the workspace is increased. It has neat little page holders that keep the book open so the pages do not flip. (I really could have used this with my oldest a couple of years ago. He had an espcially difficult English book that didn’t want to stay open to the right page.)The Studypod folds up easily, and is easy to transport in a backpack, or store on a bookshelf. It even has a handy mesh pocket inside for holding pencils, a phone, or even an iPod. (So my iPod comment wasn’t irrelevant after all.)
I let my 9 year old be the primary product tester for the Studypod. After an initial training session, she was able to set up the Studypod by herself. She works at a relatively small table. Since her younger brother also shares the table with her during certain times of the day, the space saving aspect of the Studypod has been especially useful to her.
In the first photo, you can see the Studypod holding a thin, soft-cover book. The second photo displays the Studypod with a thicker, hard-cover textbook. We have found that the Studypod holds both of these books equally well.
The Studypod is available from their website in black, pink, and blue for $19.95. (It is also available as a Bookpod in black, beige, or gray.) If you use the code TOSBLOG5, you will receive $5 off your order.
