I am once again joining the 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge.
So obviously, my first goal is to read at least 52 books this year. I met my goal last year with exactly 52. I don’t think I will make my goal higher, but I do have some sub-goals.
1. I am trying to read the Bible in 90 Days. I have tried it before and not made it. I am not officially part of the group but am reading on my own. I have completed 10 days so far and have already completed Genesis through Leviticus. I am using my iPod Touch and the YouBible Reading plan. This has been a very convenient way to read especially these past 10 days since I am completing most of my reading while I’m up in the middle of the night feeding the baby. There are no pages to turn and no need to turn on a light.
2. I want to read the remaining Jane Austen novels. I have read Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Sense and Sensibility. I have downloaded Mansfield Park, Persuasion, and Northanger Abbey to the Kindle app of my iPod Touch, so they are there whenever I decide to start reading.
3. I tend to read a lot of cozy mystery novels. In order to make sure that I am reading a little bit of variety, I plan to read a minimum of 8 non-fiction books.

Wow, sounds like lots of good reading. I didn’t know there was a kindle app for the IPod touch, I’ll have to look into that. And I’m definitely going to check out the YouBible reading plan. Thanks for sharing them. 🙂

Let me know if you need help finding either of those apps.
I remember the good old reading-while-nursing days! But at night I’d nurse in bed, since taht was much easier. During the day I’d read. Now I have had to plan down time for myself.
We’re also joining the Jane Austen challenge. That should be fun.

I must be the only person who cannot comfortably nurse lying in bed. I’ve tried it and I can’t get it for some reason.
I never could, either! 🙂
Ya know, you have inspired me! I will join you, Kristen!
Great 🙂
We’d love for you tot join the group reading the Bible in 90 days together.. the accountability really helps…
Stopping by from the TOS Blog Walk. I am also trying the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge…so far I have found inspiration from the TOG Rhetoric reading list and my natual history museum’s book club. I should try to finish out the Austen novels, but I can never remember which ones I have not read – maybe it is Mansfield Park.
That’s a wonderful goal. I love to read and always have something going. I don’t think I could do the 90 day challenge, but I do love to read some of the Bible every day. (well, I could physically do it, but it would be to fast for it to sink into my head!)
Oh, and hello from the blog walk! =)
What a great goal! I know I would never make it…lol! Good luck…and I’m here stoppping by on the blog walk. 🙂
Oooh I love reading too! I’m constantly reading something – from homeschool and parenting books to fiction. I should join you in re-reading the Jane Austin books 🙂
Great goal for this year and congratulations on meeting your goal last year! I am just walking by on the TOS crew Blog walk and I am a new follower of your blog!
Have a very blessed day!
It sounds like you will be busy this year. I have never kept track of how many books I read in a year, maybe I’ll do that this year. I am stopping by on the blog walk.
I would love to read 52 books in a year, but there is NO WAY, I could! How do you do it? Well, you’ve already described part of the process, you read while most of us are sleeping, lol. Believe it or not I sort of miss those days…well maybe not so much. But I did enjoy that quiet time with my baby and sometimes a book.
As for me, I plan to read some of the Jane Austen books this year but I’m sure it will not be all of them. I’m in the middle of watching PBS’ Masterpiece Classics version of Emma. I love it!
Good luck with all your 2011 reading endeavors!
